Sarudzayi Chifamba-Barnes is a gifted story-teller. In the book she revives the folktales that she was told as a small child. She writes about how Hare, one of the tinniest animals in the jungle outmanoeuvres big animals like Elephant, Lion, and how Hare is always outsmarting his cousin Baboon. She also write about the battles between Hare and Tortoise, as Tortoise always seem to outmanoeuvre Hare. In the book there are other folktales about human beings; how a woman turned mushrooms into children but failed to adhere to the stiff conditions of keeping 'mushroom' children. The book is a must to all Zimbabwean children, and any children interested in African Heritage.
